We live in an era where there’s footwear for any activity and occasion. You’ll see young professionals in high heels, schoolkids in sneakers and comfortable people in Crocs. These shoes are light and relatively comfortable: perfect for the daily life of average folk.
But in times of war and hazard, the strength and defence of shoes become far more important. And as we’ll soon see, this can come at the expense of comfort. But technology marches on, and so does the quality of foot armour. Are modern footwear any better than the ancient ankleguards of old?
